Prize Wheel

Put a wheel of prizes on your stream. When a member tips the wheel's price, the wheel spins on stream and lands on a prize. You can also spin it yourself.

caution

Please remember that CharlesBot is only able to track public tips.

Set Up a Wheel

  1. In your Control Panel, open OBS widgets and choose Prize wheel.
  2. In the wheel menu at the top, choose Add New Wheel.
  3. Set Wheel Price to the tip that spins it, like 200.
  4. Under Wheel Prizes, type a name for each prize and pick its color. Choose Add Prize to add more.
  5. If you want, choose a Wheel Theme to change the wheel's colors.

Your changes save on their own, and Live Preview shows how the wheel looks.

You can make a wheel for each price, like a 100 token wheel and a 500 token wheel. Use the wheel menu to switch between them.

Change Your Prizes

  • Drag a prize to move it around the wheel.
  • Use the switch on a prize to turn it off without deleting it.
  • Choose the trash can to delete a prize.
  • Choose Bulk Edit to type or paste all your prize names at once, one per line.

Check the Odds

Every prize on the wheel has the same chance on each spin. To make a prize more likely, add it more than once.

Choose Check odds to see each prize's chance and try a batch of test spins. Test spins stay in the settings page. They don't show on stream or give out prizes.

Turn Off or Delete a Wheel

The switch next to the wheel menu turns the whole wheel on or off. A wheel that's off won't spin, from tips or from you. Choose DELETE to remove the wheel.

In the Control Panel, a wheel that's off says Turned off. Choose Turn it back on in this wheel's settings to open that wheel, then use the switch.

Limit a Wheel to Club Members

Under MFCShare Club Restrictions, paste the link to one of your MFCShare clubs and choose Add. Only members of that club spin the wheel when they tip. You can add more than one club, and members of any of them can spin it.

Spins you start yourself skip this check.

Add the Wheel to OBS

  1. In the wheel settings, choose Add to OBS.
  2. Choose which spins to show. All wheels shows spins from every wheel that's on. Only the 200 token wheel shows just that one.
  3. Drag the link it shows into OBS. OBS asks whether to add it, so choose Yes. It arrives at the right size.

You can also add it yourself as a Browser Source that is exactly 600 wide and 600 tall.

The wheel stays hidden until a spin starts and hides again after it shows the prize, so you can leave it in your scene.

tip

One All wheels source covers every wheel you make. CharlesBot can also use it to spin for your raffle winners on stream.

note

To show the wheel in more than one scene, add the same source to each scene instead of making a new one. Each wheel source spins on its own, so two sources could land on different prizes.

How Spins Work

  • A tip of exactly the wheel's price spins it once. Other amounts don't spin it, so 400 tokens won't spin the 200 token wheel twice.
  • When several spins come in, they play one after another. You can stop the ones still waiting.
  • The wheel shows the prize for about 10 seconds, then hides.
  • CharlesBot sends you a PM for each prize, like ModelFan won Dance in your 200 token prize wheel!
  • Tips during a private show don't spin the wheel.

Spin a Wheel Yourself

In your Control Panel, open Games & activities and choose Prize wheel. Each of your wheels is listed with its prizes.

  • Choose Spin once to spin a wheel one time.
  • Choose More, set Times to spin, and choose Spin to spin it up to 75 times in a row. Under it, the Control Panel shows about how long that many spins take to play, like 12 spins ≈ 7 min.

If OBS isn't open with your wheel source, the Control Panel lets you know, because spins won't play on stream.

To change a wheel, choose More, then Edit this wheel. Your OBS widget settings open on that wheel. Edit my wheels in OBS widget settings, under your wheels, opens your prize wheel settings.

Recent prizes shows who won what, newest first. Spins you start yourself show up as Manual Spin, here and in CharlesBot's PM.

Stop Waiting Spins

When spins are lined up, each wheel in Prize wheel shows how many are waiting, like 14 spins waiting (3 from tips). The prize wheel also gets a card under Running now.

  • Choose Stop on a wheel to clear the spins waiting on it.
  • When spins are waiting on more than one wheel, choose Stop all to clear every wheel.
  • Choose Stop on the prize wheel's card under Running now to clear every wheel without leaving your room chat.

Stop clears spins from tips too, so if viewers paid for any of them, the Control Panel asks first, like Stop 14 waiting spins? 3 were paid for by viewers. Choose Stop spins to clear them, or Keep spinning (Keep on the Running now card) to let them play.

The spin on screen always finishes, and its prize still counts. CharlesBot tells you how many spins it stopped and how many were from tips.

note

An older wheel source in OBS can't stop spins, and the Control Panel tells you when yours needs updating. Refresh the wheel's browser source in OBS once to update it: double-click the source and choose Refresh cache of current page. Refreshing also clears every waiting spin right away, including spins from tips.

Chat Commands

You can also spin and stop your wheels by typing commands.

Spin a Wheel

!spinwheel [price] [spins]

This spins the wheel for that price. Add a number to spin it more than once, up to 75 times. You and your room helpers can use it, and !wheelspin works the same way.

Example

!spinwheel 200

This spins the 200 token wheel once.

!spinwheel 200 3

This spins the 200 token wheel 3 times.

CharlesBot doesn't post anything in chat. The wheel just spins on your stream. If no wheel that's turned on has that price, nothing spins.

Stop Waiting Spins

!stopwheel [price]

This clears the spins waiting on the wheel for that price, including spins from tips. Leave out the price to clear every wheel. It doesn't ask first. The spin on screen finishes, and its prize still counts. You and your room helpers can use it, and !wheelstop works the same way.

Example

!stopwheel 200

This clears the spins waiting on the 200 token wheel.

!stopwheel

This clears the spins waiting on every wheel.

CharlesBot answers in a PM to whoever used it, not in room chat, and says how many spins it stopped and how many were from tips.

Open OBS Widget Settings

Send CharlesBot a PM with !obs and open the link he sends you.
